Grand Ma Ma, the slam dunking granny played by former NBA star Larry Johnson in a series of early 1990′s Converse commercials, is back and hawking a new product. According to PR-USA.net, LJ has launched a new line of beverages with Hall of Fame Beverages, Inc.
Johnson’s new line, called Grand Ma Ma Sweet Southern Tea, is currently available in select areas. Johnson is expected to reprise his Grand Ma Ma role in a commercial for the product this year.
What better time to look back at one of the classic Converse ads?
Ahhh nostalgia. Clippers forward Blake Griffin may have a similar game to LJ, but he is no Grand Ma Ma!

Where is Larry now? His company is going bankrupt, going for a ticket symbol change, and a giant Reverse Split. Someone run this story again! No tea was ever even made or sold. They ran the company into the ground and ran away with people’s money.
